-- Paws into Grace, a Southern California provider of end-of-life pet care and aquamation services, has officially opened its second location at 8395 Camino Santa Fe, Suite A, San Diego, CA 92121, in the Miramar area of San Diego. The purpose-built facility expands the company’s capacity to serve families with end-of-life pet care services, in-home and in-office euthanasia, and aquamation across Southern California.
A Facility Designed for Grieving Families
The San Diego location was built specifically around the needs of families navigating the loss of a pet. Rather than replicating the atmosphere of a veterinary clinic or industrial crematory, the facility offers a calm, home-like setting intended to ease an already difficult experience. Features include a private family viewing room where entire families can gather for meaningful final moments, and a dedicated comfort room for in-office euthanasia, an option for families who prefer not to have the appointment at home or in a clinical setting.
Two separate pet areas minimize overlapping visits between grieving families, providing a quieter, more personal experience during appointments.
Expanded Aquamation Operations
The larger San Diego facility significantly expands aquamation operations with additional space for equipment, staff, and workflow. Paws into Grace’s Escondido location is the first IAOPCC-accredited aquamation provider in California, and just the third aquamation provider in the world to earn this accreditation.
Aquamation is a water-based alternative to flame cremation that uses approximately 90% less energy and produces no direct greenhouse gas emissions from combustion. The process often returns more of a pet’s ashes to families, offering an environmentally-friendly option for pet owners seeking a gentler farewell.
Dr. Elizabeth Benson, Owner and Founder of Paws into Grace, said: “As Paws into Grace has grown, it has always been important to me that we never lose sight of why we started: to give pets a beautiful and gentle goodbye. Our second location in Miramar, San Diego, gives us the opportunity to care for more families while staying true to the compassionate care that has always been at the heart of Paws into Grace. As we expand our cremation services to the new location, it also allows us to be part of a bigger shift toward greener, more thoughtful options for pet aftercare. Aquamation (water cremation) gives families another choice, one that is gentle on their pet and the environment.”
Centralized Access Across San Diego County
Situated in the Miramar area, the new facility provides easier access for families in Central San Diego, East County, South Bay, and coastal communities. The company’s original Escondido office remains open with regular business hours, continuing to serve North County families. Pet owners can now choose whichever location best fits their needs, with both offices providing the same compassionate end-of-life care.
The central location also supports the company’s veterinarians, cremation staff, and veterinary hospital and community partners with improved logistics across the county.
Brooke Garber, Director of Aquamation at Paws into Grace, said: “Miramar is more than a new facility; it’s a promise to our community. A promise to make compassionate aftercare more accessible and to ensure that every family who walks through our doors is met with kindness, comfort, and grace during one of life’s most difficult moments. Miramar is another chapter in our journey to provide beautiful goodbyes. A new home. The same compassionate hearts.”
