The Boxery, a Lyndhurst, NY packaging supplier, has expanded in-stock availability of the 20 x 12 x 4 box, a low-profile corrugated option for ecommerce sellers shipping framed items, apparel sets, and tablets.
-- LYNDHURST, NY — The Boxery, an online packaging supplier based in Lyndhurst, announced expanded in-stock availability of the 20 x 12 x 4 box, a shallow corrugated shipping carton. The expansion is intended to give e-commerce sellers a more consistently available option for flat goods such as framed items, apparel sets, and tablets. The company holds the added inventory across its U.S. warehouse locations.
Flat and low-profile goods have become a regular part of online order volume as sellers of wall art, home décor, and accessories ship directly to consumers. The U.S. Census Bureau reports in its quarterly retail e-commerce releases that online sales have grown as a share of total retail over the past decade, increasing demand for packaging sized to specific product shapes. Consumers often choose shallow cartons for these goods because they limit empty space inside the package.
The 20 x 12 x 4 box is a single-wall corrugated carton in standard kraft brown. This single-wall construction is commonly rated at 32 ECT (Edge Crush Test), a measure of how much compressive force the corrugated board can withstand along its edge. Boxes in this strength class typically carry items weighing up to about 65 pounds, covering most framed prints, folded apparel, and consumer electronics such as tablets.
The 20 x 12 x 4 box joins a range of flat and shallow carton sizes in the company’s catalog, which includes more than 1,000 corrugated box sizes. The Boxery states that orders for residential delivery placed before 4 p.m. Eastern time ship the same day, while later orders ship the next business day. Stocking the carton at several warehouses is intended to shorten transit distances for sellers and customers in different regions.
“Sellers who ship framed items and flat goods have told us that finding a shallow carton in the right dimensions can be inconsistent, so we increased the quantity we keep on hand,” said the Owner of The Boxery. “The 20 x 12 x 4 box is a practical size for a wide range of products, and keeping it available lets sellers plan their packaging with fewer interruptions.”
