Tree Care, Inc. (713-850-8466) has published a new resource on deep root fertilization, walking Houston homeowners and property managers through how injecting nutrients directly into the root zone can strengthen trees, improve drought tolerance, and support long-term resilience.

-- Tree Care, Inc. has announced a new guide to deep root fertilization for Houston-area property owners, covering how the treatment works and why targeting the root zone produces better results than surface fertilization. The guide explains how injecting a nutrient-rich solution directly below the surface bypasses competition from turfgrass, delivering nutrients where trees actually absorb them.

The guide explains why Houston’s urban trees often struggle with compacted clay soil, construction damage, and limited nutrition. It identifies which trees are most likely to benefit from the treatment, including large shade trees, newly planted trees, trees affected by construction, and those already showing signs of decline.
Texas weather can place severe strain on trees. A Texas A&M Forest Service survey found that the 2011 drought killed an estimated 301 million trees in rural forested areas statewide. A separate Texas A&M Forest Service Urban Forestry study estimated that another 5.6 million trees along streets and in yards and parks also died.
Against that backdrop, much of the guide focuses on how deep root feeding is designed to help trees withstand dry spells. It covers how the treatment encourages deeper roots that reach available moisture, supports recovery after storms, strengthens defenses against pests and disease, and improves soil aeration.
“Healthy trees start below the surface, and the root zone is where real improvement happens,” a Tree Care, Inc. arborist said. “We wrote this guide so property owners can understand what their trees are dealing with underground and make informed decisions before small problems turn into serious decline.”
The guide also answers common questions about timing and results. For most Houston trees, the company suggests treatment once or twice a year, usually in spring or fall. It explains why surface fertilizer mainly feeds the lawn, and notes that improvements tend to appear gradually over several months.
