BRYCER, the creator of The Compliance Engine (TCE), announced the launch of Fire Watch, a new service within its fire inspection report software that gives Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) a daily, timestamped record of fire watch activity tied to the impaired system that triggered it. Fire Watch is available now as an opt-in service.
When a fire protection system is impaired, a fire watch may be required until the system is restored, with AHJs overseeing the process and confirming that required daily checks are completed. That information can be documented across paper logs, emails, and other records rather than alongside the impaired system's record. Fire Watch on TCE places each day's submission on that record, so the watch and the decision to end it sit in the same place.
Fire Watch can be turned on from a deficient inspection report or directly from a fire protection system record. Property owners then submit a Fire Watch form in Premises Portal each required day, and AHJs review each submission, either returning it to the property owners if information is missing or closing the watch once the system is restored. TCE automatically sends renewal and overdue notices throughout the watch. Once the system is restored and the watch is closed, the daily requirement and associated notices end.

Fire Watch form fields can be tailored to a department's requirements. There is no cost to AHJs, and property owners pay a standardized fee for each daily submission. This new service strengthens oversight of impaired systems in TCE, giving AHJs the visibility and tools they need to drive timely compliance.
