Bake3D Introduces AI Workflow for Creating Rigged and Animated 3D Characters

Sep 29, 2026

Bake3D converts images or prompts into textured, rigged and animated 3D assets for games, films, animation and other creative projects.

-- Bake3D Inc. is pleased to announce it has introduced an AI-assisted production workflow that turns a drawing, render, photograph, or text prompt into a textured 3D asset that can be rigged, animated, and moved into widely used creative tools. The platform is designed for game development, film previsualization, animation, web experiences, mobile projects, and other work that benefits from moving 3D content.

According to the company, a character often begins as a single still image. Before that idea can walk through a game level or appear in an animatic, artists may need to model hidden surfaces, construct a skeleton, assign skin weights, and create motion. Bake3D brings those early steps into one browser-based sequence. Users can review the textured mesh, inspect the proposed rig, describe an action in ordinary language, and export the result for further work.

At its core, the system is built for more than standard human figures. Its rigging process is intended to interpret the structure of animals, winged creatures, flexible bodies, many-limbed designs, vehicles, machines, props, and hybrid forms. Bake3D assigns joint roles to help its motion system address parts such as legs, wings, tails, wheels, and articulated panels. Because a single image cannot reveal every hidden surface, the company advises creators to examine topology, joint placement, and deformation before using an asset in production.

“A strong idea can lose momentum when the path from concept art to a moving asset becomes too technical or time-consuming,” says Marcus Garcia of Bake3D Inc. “Bake3D is intended to give creators a practical first version they can inspect, animate, and continue refining in the software they already use.”

Bake3D exports rigged or animated assets as GLB or FBX files. Its editor integrations support workflows involving Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, and Godot, while other glTF-compatible applications can load exported assets. Bake3D has verified generated assets, armatures, materials, and animation in Blender 4.4. The company publishes separate validation notes for other integrations so teams can see which steps have been tested and which still require confirmation in the target editor.

For developers and studios building repeatable pipelines, Bake3D also provides an API for generation jobs, project status, rigging, animation, and export. Its Model Context Protocol tools allow compatible AI assistants to request assets, direct motion, monitor jobs, and retrieve exports. A connected editor bridge or Bake3D integration is still required before an assistant can place the asset inside a desktop scene.

The platform separates each stage rather than treating generation as a single irreversible step. If the mesh is useful but the rig needs another pass, creators can keep the model and revisit the affected stage. Bake3D says failed jobs are automatically refunded in credits, and partial results remain available when a later stage does not complete. Purchased credits include a commercial, royalty-free license for generated output, subject to the service terms and the user’s rights in the source material.

Bake3D positions its output as a starting point for creative production. Generated assets may suit prototypes, previsualization, animatics, background elements, game experiments, and reference work after review. Close-up film characters and other demanding uses may still require manual retopology, detailed facial systems, cloth or fur simulation, and a production-grade rig.
